Below 0.05, single-unit noise and heat are manageable in almost any office-adjacent space, but the data you collect does not scale predictably to multi-rack deployments. Heat output becomes directional. Below that threshold, heat disperses more evenly and misleads teams into underestimating ventilation needs.

Power draw variability increases. ASIC units at 0.05 computing power show boot-time spikes of 15–20% above sustained draw. Electrical planning that uses only sustained-load figures will underestimate circuit requirements.

Acoustic profiles shift from background hum to identifiable equipment noise. At one metre, a 0.05 computing power ASIC typically registers 68–72 dB. Building managers notice this during site visits.

Practical Recommendation

If your pilot room goal is to validate operational procedures — monitoring, maintenance cycles, pool configuration, payout tracking — before warehouse-scale investment, start your assessment at equipment rated 0.05 computing power or higher. Test with one or two units, but choose hardware that represents your target production tier.
